Amazing $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a short availability earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore that lasts until Dec. 2. Hailed as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by a specialized software company throughout their history, the entire collection is valued at more than thirteen hundred dollars. And there are multiple package options offered in this deal.

Primary Feature

The standout feature is certainly permanent access for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard mapping application that can be used to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, city maps, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

A regional fantasy map created using the CC3+ software platform.

Package Levels

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This package suits cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Intermediate Package

The eight-product collection starting at fifteen dollars offers enhanced value through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from the company's long-running monthly subscription service which includes multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Full Package

For a minimum of $30, the 39-item bundle includes all the following:

  • Advanced Terrain Generator
  • Dungeon Creation Tool
  • City Designer 3
  • Cosmographer 3
  • Perspectives 3
  • Scene Builder
  • Character Design Module
  • Fantasy Interior Symbols
  • Contemporary Design Pack
  • Symbol Set 4: Dungeons of Schley
  • Schley Urban Pack
  • Token Treasury: Monsters 2
  • Religious Structure Maps
  • World War 2 Interactive Atlas
  • World Builder’s Compendium
  • Cartographer’s Annual Vol 1-17
  • Permanent CC3+ Access
  • Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities
  • Comprehensive Mapping Guide
  • Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland
  • Monster Token Set 1
  • Fortress Source Maps
  • Source Maps: Cities!

All 17 volumes of Cartographer's Annual are included here, alongside a slew of other resource and asset packs that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or just go all-in on classic fantasy realm creation: combat arenas, underground complexes, cities, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. But it's obviously more advantageous for cartography beginners since it includes introductory guides to help you get started. The one caveat here is that while you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function with Windows systems.

Charitable Component

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option is toward the top of the page, though users may also choose any amount for a donation on the right side of the page. There's also an donation allocation menu just below that, allowing you to adjust the distribution percentage allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
