Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
